I learned how to mix different colors to make new ones. I learned that painting on transparencies is incredibly difficult. The transparency was hard to paint on because the paint took longer to dry than on paper.I learned that Brown is made from blue and orange.

This art was created by Igor Siwanowicz who is a scientist and photographer. His art mainly consists of various caterpillars at perspective. He works as a neurobiologist at "Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Farm Research Campus in Virginia." He's been a photographer for more than ten years, and uploads them on photo.net. This work inspires me because of it's variety of color and the different shapes of the animals.Looking onto his website he also does pictures of other animals such as snakes, cockroaches, and turtles. What draws me in about the pictures is how focused the camera is on the animal and it's features. Take for an example the picture on the right, it focuses on the detail of the whiskers and the caterpillar's fur texture making it eye catching.
These pictures are from the drawing uint. Pencil, pen, and Charcoal. Pencil: The pencil was on of the easiest subjects out of the other two. It was easier because I could easily erase my mistakes without having to restart. The pencil was one of the worst in smudges on the paper. Whenever I would put a lot of detail into a shadow and move my hand, the pencil markings would smudge all over the piece. Charcoal: The charcoal was really fun to do. Just like pencil if you made a mistake on the piece you wouldn't have to restart, unlike pen. Charcoal was harder to do because you couldn't put your hand on the paper or else it would ruin the piece. If too much pressure was applied to the piece, the paper's color would start to wear off. Pen: Pen was fun because it added more detail and allowed for different techniques to be used. The worst thing about pen was that if a mistake was made you'd have to cover it up or restart. My mentor is Stevie. The type of art she makes are mostly fantasy digital art. I can benefit from her skills because it interests me and inspires me to do better on my digital art. I want to comprehend my blending skills in big pieces and projects in the future.

I plan to give my piece to my mom as a teabag holder. The theme for it is a sunset with the coils on the bottom representing the hills. Making the top for the pot was really difficult because it was too heavy for the base. The most successful part was making the inside of the pot smooth. My process mostly consisted of using the scratch and slip technique. I used it to make the hills and the edges of the pot. For the last part I smoothed out the inside and outside of the pot with my hands. My most helpful warmup was the hand drawing practice. My in progress picture was deleted. The place represented in my art was from the window of a school bus. This place is important to me because I love looking at the morning sky. The most challenging thing to paint were the trees and the lighting. The most successful part of my painting was the sky;I love how the coats of paint blended together. I originally had another picture I was working on but replaced it.In the end, I really enjoyed painting this picture mainly because I love perspective views in art.
My pieces use line as a way to add detail and tygography. My "no face" piece was accurate enough to tell who the character was. However, the next time I do a print I know now to use different colors to make it better.
